A failed capacitor can lead to power failures or, in severe cases, damage to the power supply. The PCB and all the parts look fine, but one capacitor (400V 47uF) on the power supply section has this orange stuff underneath that is also sticking on some diodes next to it. The one thing that caught my eye is a blown capacitor (221k 1kv). opened it up and sure enough, a giant filter capacitor was rolling around. How capacitance values relate to the tone and feel of a guitar amp. The thing is running hot, and the capacitor is over its rated temperature. My question is, would replacing this capacitor be enough to fix the board or could there be any other reason the board malfunctioned?
